I not so recently finished a Physics degree at Magdalen College, Oxford, worked for a time in the Department of Astrophysics at the very same place. Then I worked for a small ISP for a while, and now I'm back in the University in the central computing services.
I have been playing the violin for too many years to count, and in February 1998 passed Grade 8 with Merit (126). My not-so-recent exploits on the violin include playing the first movement of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, and playing in the Oxford University Philharmonia. In the last year or so I've been playing for fun in an Oxford string quartet.
I have also been known to play the piano a bit, as well as singing in the Magdalen Singers and the Highgate School Chapel Choir, and currently the Oxford Bach Choir, and I listen to a lot of music.
I married my lovely wife Gillian in March 2007, at the Barony Hall, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
