I not so recently finished a Physics degree at Magdalen College, Oxford, worked for a time in the Department of Astrophysics at the very same place. Then I worked for a small ISP for a while, and now I'm back in the University in the central computing services.
I have been playing the violin for too many years to count, and in February 1998 passed Grade 8 with Merit (126). My not-so-recent exploits on the violin include playing the first movement of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, and playing in the Oxford University Philharmonia. For a while I've been playing for fun in an Oxford string quartet.
I have also been known to play the piano a bit, as well as singing in the Magdalen Singers and the Highgate School Chapel Choir, and currently the Oxford Bach Choir, and I listen to a lot of music.
I married my lovely wife Gillian in March 2007, at the Barony Hall, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
